Emily Goldfield

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Emily Goldfield's path to painting started in Brooklyn, NY. After attending the University of Michigan, where she received her Bachelor's Degree, and Penn State University, where she received her Master's Degree, Emily traveled to Los Angeles to attend the University ofSouthern California (USC), where she received a Doctorate in Education and Fine Arts. Described as a painter in the Romantic Realist style, she paints in both oils and pastels. As a plein air painter, Emily continues to be inspired by the early masters of the great American West, whose California landscapes refreshed the spirit of urbanites back East.

As a member of the Pastel Society of America, Emily is listed in Who's Who in America. She is also an active member of the Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains & Seashore, a plein air group that paints along the famous Malibu coastline and in the mountains overlooking the coast. This organization donates a portion of all proceeds to state and national parks for education and preservation. In addition to private collections, Emily's work has been exhibited in juried shows throughout southern California. Ojai Gallery 353 is very pleased to show the work of Emily Goldfield.
